IMG-20160920-WA0020 (1)UK Islamic Mission Youth [UKIM Youth] have teamed up with the European Institute of Islamic Sciences [EIIS] based in Oldham, to provide an exclusive two-year study programme titled ‘Foundations of Islam’, focused on the essentials of Islam. This FREE study programme, for both brothers and sisters will take place during four weekends annually in various UKIM venues across the country. The four main subjects that will be covered throughout the study programme are; Quran, Hadith, Seerah and Fiqh. The free study programme includes all course material, food and overnight accommodation. The study programme has limited spaces and registration will take place on a first come first serve basis. The first session will take place at the EIIS in Oldham on Saturday 22nd October from 2pm till 12pm on Sunday 23rd October 2016. Session one is titled ‘The key to success’ and the course material will include the Fiqh of purification & the Fiqh of Salah.Course subjects1. Quran- To guide our study of the Qur’an we will use ‘A Journey Through the Qur’an’ written by Shaykh Hassan Al-Banna as a reflective summary of the key verses within each Surah, we will overview every Surah in the Qur’an by extracting the key beliefs, morals and injunctions.2. Hadith- The statements of Prophet Muhammad (saw) are the second source of Islam and by using the compilation of fourty two Hadith by Imam Al-Nawawi titled ‘Al-Arbain’ (The Fourty) students will cover all of the major aspects of Islam.3. Seerah- The life of Prophet Muhammad (saw) was first taught by his companions to their children and formed a vital part of their learning alongside a study of the Qur’an and the Prophets statements. Using the two earliest books written about the Sirah by Ibn Ishaq and Ibn Hisham alongside extracts from early Hadith books students will cover all of the major events in the Prophets life including what took place before Prophethood, the Makkan era, the migration and life in Madinah.4. Fiqh- To act according to divine guidance has been the subject of contention and controversy which affects almost all Muslims during their life, we will offer a practical approach in dealing with these sometimes challenging topics by using al-Fiqh al-Islami According to the Hanafi Madhhab by Shaykh Akram Nadwi, a critically acclaimed text that covers Al-Ibadat (actions of worship), i.e. Purification (Taharah), Prayer (Salah), Fasting (Siyam), Alms (Zakah), and Pilgrimage (Umrah and Hajj). The fiqh course is based on the works of Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi primarily, al-Fiqh al-Islami According to the Hanafi Madhhab, volumes I and II. The aim of this course is for students to cover the four key ritual of worship, Salah, Zakah, Siyam and Hajj. The course centres on the Hanafi juristic school’s guidance upon how these four pillars of Islam are to be performed.

Bayyinah and EIIS bring you Story Night: Father of two nations to Manchester this April.
_____

Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, the instructor for Story Night, describes the course as follows:

“Qur’an has remarkable beauty from countless perspectives, one that has always captured my curiosity is the incredible style of Divine story telling. Allah chose to tell parts of Ibrahim’s (AS) account in one surah, parts in another and parts, in yet another. Why did He do that? An attempt to answer this question is what Story Night is all about. I hope to share one of my favorite examples of Qur’anic story telling.

One last thing; If teaching material passes two tests, I consider it worth traveling the country with it. Firstly, am I personally mesmerized by the lessons and secondly, did my children find it engaging enough to want me to continue night after night. Story night passes these two tests so I hope you enjoy it as much as I & the kids have.”

Yusuf Estes (USA):
Sheik Yusuf was raised in a strong Christian home, he was educated in Texas, became successful in music business, owning stores, TV shows and used his talents to promote faith in God, while doing some preaching from the Bible. In 1991 he tried to convert a Muslim from Egypt, but he found the true facts about real Islam and he became a Muslim. Al Hamdulillah. Since coming to Islam he has helped thousands of new people entering Islam, even while answering many harsh attacks against Muslims, just using straight talk, simple humor and a lot of love. He makes it fun and easy for all of us to understand. Sheik Yusuf served as Delegate to United Nations Peace Summit for Religious Leaders, U.S. Federal chaplain from 1994 until 2000.

Uthman Lateef (UK)

Uthman Lateef has been the Director of the Hittin Institute since March 2008. He has a BA (First Class Hons) in History, an MA (Distinction) in Crusading Studies with a dissertation on religious poetry in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and is currently completing a PhD in the Muslim literary effort to inspire a yearning for Jerusalem in the twelfth century. Uthman has been involved in many Islamic organisations, international charitable projects where he has been particularly active in raising awareness about the plight of Muslims in poverty-stricken Africa. He has spent time studying and travelling in the Middle East since 2001 and is a khateeb in many mosques as well as a popular speaker in universities and community centers.

UKIM YOUTH DAY OF ACTION

day of action

For too long have some sat by and idly watched what’s going on around them, not willing or able to take that step to make the change. We have been blighted by:-

  • Littered streets
  • Lack of awareness on basic health issues
  • Mass disillusionment amongst the youth
  • Politicians not listening to the views of their constituents
  • Lonely elderly people in hospitals and care homes
  • Lack of aspiration amongst our school children

UKIM Youth have decided Enough is Enough. Saturday 25th October 2014 will see the UKIM Youth and their teams take part in:

The UKIM Youth National Day of Action-

GOAL? To make a positive contribution to their communities and show Muslim youth in a positive light.

Our youth teams will be working across the country to carry out a number of projects such as:

  • Local litter picking
  • Visit to the old people homes and present Eid Gifts
  • Visit to the children’s ward at a hospital to give Eid gifts Sponsorship for local and national charities
  • Listing campaigns
  • Visiting primary schools to talk to the children to inspire them
  • Volunteering with other good causes
  • Awareness campaigns for local and national causes such as Anthony Nolan Trust, Christies, Giving Blood, Diabetes/Heart Disease.

If you would like to assist them, get involved or know someone that would like to get involved, then please contact your local youth in charge or the National Day of Action campaign coordinator, Br. Nasser Iqbal on 07985 696377 or by email on info@ukimyouth.com

New volunteers are most welcome to assist us.
